X-ray protective operator screens

Mobile and fixed X-ray protective screens

Made to exceptional standards of safety and quality, we supply both mobile and fixed X-ray protective screens for use in hospitals, dental surgeries and veterinary practices.

Where space is limited or a clinical area must fulfil several roles, mobile screens offer a practical solution; being easily moved to another area when not in use. Our screens are constructed from using high quality materials which, in combination with clever design features, means they will provide many years of safety whilst maintaining their aesthetics.

Our screens are made bespoke to your requirements and clinical situation. Radiation shielding is achieved via a lead core with specialised lead glass windows providing a panoramic view of the clinical area.

Midland Lead X-Ray Protective Screens

Resuscitation mobile screens

Mobile screens can be built up to 3m long making them perfect for protecting multiple staff or patients.
Our standard screen height is just under 2m to afford nominal X-ray protection and ease of movement between clinical areas. However, any height is available according to your needs.

Key features of our mobile screens

Whilst guaranteed safety is the most important consideration, our screens are engineered with design features to support healthcare professionals:

  • Made in accordance with NHS Health Building Notes and infection control standards and manufactured as an integral part of our ISO 9001 quality system
  • Hygiene friendly, slim, modern style
  • Customisation options available for fitted furniture including worktops, shelves, white boards, drawers, storage boxes and dispensers
  • Unique, rounded U-shaped barrier channel offers a robust, soft touch edge and prevents sharp edges forming from knocks
  • Heavy duty steel legs with lockable hi-load castors (Non-ferrous metals available for use in MRI areas)
  • Available in any colour laminate finish to match existing decoration as required

Fixed x-ray protective screens

Quality, x-ray protection, customised design

Where a fixed screen option is more suitable, we offer customised solutions to meet your safety and aesthetic requirements.

Hosting a solid lead core, our fixed x-ray protection screens are encased in durable, attractive plastic laminate. The surrounding frames are constructed from rounded satin anodised aluminium to produce a tactile and hygienic finish that is as stylish as it is robust.

Key features of our fixed screens

Every screen is custom-made and can be specified to any dimension incorporating lead thickness between 1 mm and 3.5 mm as required (greater lead thicknesses are available on request). We also offer an extensive range of supporting furniture and a full fitting service:

  • Colour match with accompanying screen materials guaranteed
  • Custom-made to fit your screen so providing seamless on-site fit and integration
  • All our protective screens comply with MEGN 2 (Medical Guidance Notes) and manufactured as an integral part of our ISO 9001 quality system Straight, multiple winged, hinged, freestanding or wall mounted – whatever configuration works best for your clinical workspace
